Right now, the Baltimore Humane Society is caring for more animals than ever who need safety, healing, and a place to call home. This October, you can help us help them — while enjoying the ultimate fall day filled with fun, friends, and furry canine companions!

When: Saturday, October 17 from 11 AM–2 PM
Where: Our shelter (1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, Maryland).

The Walk | Run | Hike will take place on our beautiful trails, while the festival will be held on our scenic grounds.

Enjoy some dog & family friendly Fall Fun at our annual HOWL-O-WINE fundraiser. Your generosity will fund the majority of our operating costs and pay the required insurance for our pet therapy visits and the Reading Program.

HOWL-O-WINE will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 12 – 5pm at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard. EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE!

Tickets are $25 in advance (or $30 at the gate). Ticket includes entry to the event, a souvenir wine glass, and a complimentary tasting of Sugarloaf wines. Kids are free. Must be 21+ to consume alcohol. Advanced ticket sales will end on October 16, 2026.

Join the Animal Welfare League of Frederick County for Barks, Brews & Boos on Saturday, October 17th, 1:00pm-4:00pm!

We have partnered with Monocacy Brewing Company to bring you an afternoon of spooky fun for your families and furbabies alike – join us for fabulous beer, Howl-O-Ween carnival games, a silent auction, and an all-around beautiful fall day perusing our vendor stalls and enjoying the brewery.

Each ticket includes a complimentary serving of beer, a commemorative koozie, an entry into our door prize raffle, a ticket for one Howl-O-Ween carnival game, and unlimited access to our other activities and vendors.

Costumes- human and canine- are of course welcomed!

Online ticket sales end October 16th, but day-of tickets will be available at the venue and are $30.

The first 100 people to buy tickets will receive a pawsome gift bag stuffed with lots of goodies!

Join us at The Comus Inn on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 4–7pm to celebrate Halloween and raise funds to support the Montgomery County Humane Society. Relax on the patio with your pup while enjoying delicious draft beer and watching the sunset behind beautiful Sugarloaf Mountain.

Costumes are encouraged for all — prizes will be awarded for best dog costume and best dog/human team costume.

Join us back this Halloween season for our Trick or Treat Trail! We’re transforming our woods into a spooky & family friendly trail for the public to walk through, to experience a Halloween like no other. Bring your friends, family, and furry friends as this trail will be dog friendly.

Families are invited to come, dress up, and bring your leashed pets along for a themed Halloween experience through the woods. Costumes are encouraged for you, your kids, and your pets. No terrifying frights during this daytime experience, only fun & creepy Halloween festivities! Every step made through our trail will be filled with festive fun, and a chance to make a difference for our shelter pets 🙂

BARCStoberfest is an annual, large-scale, pet-friendly festival and fundraiser that benefits the lifesaving programs and animal care at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS). The Patterson Park festival includes the annual “Ready, Set, SNIFF!” 5K Run/Half-Mile Pet Parade, Howl-o-Ween Pet Costume Contest, Barkin’ Beer Garden vendors, kids’ activities, and more! Fundraising leading up to BARCStoberfest raises critical funding for Maryland’s highest volume, an open-admission shelter serving 12,000 animals per year. Our goal this year is $400,000, so please join us to raise funds for our community’s needy animals.

We’re teaming up with Bowie CLAW (Citizens for Local Animal Welfare) charity organization to bring you a tail-wagging good time at our Howl-O-Ween Fest dog costume event! Bring your dog dressed in their scariest, group, handmade, or funniest costume and enjoy a day filled with laughter, doggie games, photo ops, and delicious treats.

This event is free to attend. If you would like your dog to participate, pre-registering your pup below for just $10 gets them extra goodies and a chance to compete in contests for trophies and other prizes!

All proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting the animals and programs of Bowie CLAW

Register your costumed pet in the parade. We have door prizes and prizes for the judging. Take your pet for a long walk in the park.

All Aboard With Your Pup!

Come dressed in your best Pups & Pals costumes to the Museum for the biggest puppy playdate of the year!

Celebrate Halloween with your furry friends with an afternoon of activities under the pavilion, a train excursion to Carroll Park, a costume contest, and a “Yappy Hour” for all the adults in the building.

Plus, come shop ’til you drop with our amazing vendors! There will be something for everyone (dogs included, of course). This is the only time of the year that dogs are allowed aboard the Mile One Express, so don’t miss out. This event is sure to be pawsome!

Schedule:
1 pm: Yappy Hour begins
2 pm: Mile One Express Train Ride to Carroll Park
3 pm: Yappy Hour continues, along with the costume contest

*Owners must pre-register their dogs with proof of a rabies vaccine and sign a hold harmless waiver. Each dog must be accompanied by one adult. All dogs must be on a leash and owners must bring waste bags.

A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to BARCS and Maryland SPCA.

Join us for our 4th annual Doggie Halloween Extravaganza 10/28/26 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The first 50 people will receive VIP gift bags! Tricks and costume contests with amazing prizes from our vendors, door prizes, professional pet photographer, kids activities, trick or treating, adorable adoptables from several rescues and vendors from the pet care industry! Don’t miss it!

Give your dogs a fun day out and help us celebrate our faithful pups by bringing them for a day on the farm! Leashes required for all pets and please come prepared to clean up after your pets when nature calls!

Dress up your pup in a costume and take them trick or treating on the farm! Donate to the Morgan Chapel Pet Food Pantry. Learn how to train your dog with a local dog training club.

J.Z.’s Brick Oven Pizza Food Truck & Waredaca Brewery will be here from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M.

The Maryland Corn Maze has been named one of the 25 best corn mazes in the US, and Bring Your Dog Weekend is the ONLY time dogs are allowed, so mark your calendars! For 2026… GET LOST IN CHILDHOOD WITH ALL YOUR FAVORITE TOYS… IT’S GOING TO BE NOSTALGIC! Make sure to bring your phone. As you travel through the maze trying to find your way… there will be posts to find and some fun along with each one as you scan the QR codes. In addition to the maze, there are loads of other fun activities in the farm yard, including a zip line, bounce pad, petting zoo, hayrides, slingshots, giant Lincoln logs, pedal tractors, and more!
